Shape your Familiar

Shape a persistent teammate with a distinct look, voice, soul, and working life.

A Familiar isn't a generic assistant skin — its identity should stay recognizable across Rooms, artifacts, tools, and time.

Set it up

  1. Open Settings and choose My agents.
  2. Open the customization wizard for your Familiar.
  3. Choose or generate an avatar.
  4. Write its soul — character, tone, judgment, and the kind of relationship you want.
  5. Pick a voice, and additional language voices when they're available.
  6. Choose how private or forthcoming its personality should be, and whether it leans toward Work, Life, or Both.
  7. Review and save.

What privacy and work/life actually change

How private are you? runs from Closed book through Reserved, Open, and Forthcoming to Open book — lower settings make your Familiar more guarded, higher settings make it more candid. Where do you want me? shapes what it leans toward: Work (email, research, documents), Life (lights, music, errands), or Both.

These are personality preferences, not permissions. They don't add your Familiar to a Room, share memory across namespaces, grant a capability, or bypass an approval — Server policy, Room membership, and tool capabilities still decide what it may see or do.

You can revise any of this later from Settings → My agents.
