Your server is
a real boundary.

This notice covers the OpenCircle website at opencircle.world and the project's own services. OpenCircle itself is open-source software that anyone can run. When you use an OpenCircle Server run by someone else — your company, a friend, a community — that operator decides how your data is handled there.

This notice can't describe or control what an independent operator does. Ask the operator of your server for their own notice.

Hosting and delivery. Like any website, our host processes technical request data — IP address, browser details, requested pages and timestamps — to serve pages and keep the service secure.

Stored in your browser. We keep two small preferences in your browser's local storage: your theme choice and, if you connect a wallet, which wallet you used and its public address so the site can restore the connection. Clearing site data removes both.

Wallet connection. Connecting a wallet shares your public address with this page. We read your ETH balance on Robinhood Chain through a public RPC endpoint. We never ask for a signature, and no key leaves your wallet.

An OpenCircle Server may store accounts and profile details, memberships, Rooms and messages, files and documents, memory, Familiar configuration, provider settings, approvals, logs and backups. What exactly it keeps depends on its version, enabled features and its operator's choices.

Clients also keep local settings, secure session material, drafts, cached content and diagnostics on your device.

For access, correction, export or deletion of data on an independent server, contact that server's operator — the project doesn't hold or administer it.

A server can connect to outside AI models, search, voice, tools and infrastructure. Content, prompts, files, identifiers and metadata may then leave the server boundary to reach the provider carrying out that work.

The operator decides which providers are available and is responsible for understanding their terms. The provider's own privacy terms apply to what it receives.

The apps only ask for access when you use a feature that needs it:

• Camera — scan a server QR code or take a photo to attach.
• Photos and files — choose what to share or upload.
• Microphone — voice input or recorded audio you choose to send.
• Notifications — alerts from the server you selected.

You can withdraw any permission in your operating system settings. The related feature stops working; the rest of the app keeps going.

OpenCircle is designed around private infrastructure, explicit membership, scoped access, protected credentials and visible approvals. The current alpha does not promise universal end-to-end encryption. Data is protected in transit and at rest where the deployment is configured that way, and the operator can generally reach what the server stores.

We'll update this notice when those protections change.

The project keeps its own records only as long as needed to run the website, support people and meet legal obligations.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or port personal information. Requests about an independent server go to its operator; requests about the project's own services go to us.

The launch-news form on the home page is not connected to a mailing list yet. Submitting it does not send or store your address anywhere — the page simply tells you so. When the list opens, this section will name the service used, what it stores and how to unsubscribe, before any address is collected.
