Delete an OpenCircle Mobile account

Permanently delete the account on one named Server, or start a request without the app.

Deletion applies to exactly one named Server — it never touches accounts on any other Server saved on your phone.

Delete the account in Mobile

  1. Sign in to the Server whose account you want gone.
  2. Open Settings.
  3. Under Your account, choose Delete account.
  4. Read the named Server and the deletion boundary shown.
  5. Reauthenticate and confirm.

Once the Server confirms deletion, Mobile removes that Server's local registration too. This is different from just removing a saved Server, which clears the phone's registration without asking the Server to delete anything.

When deletion must stop first

Mobile explains the next step instead of silently wiping shared work when the account is the Server's last owner, owns Rooms that need reassigning first, is federated to another authority, or has an active media operation still running. Finish that step, then return to the deletion screen — it rechecks eligibility automatically.

Finish an interrupted removal

If the request never reached the Server, the account still exists — reconnect and repeat deletion. If the result is unconfirmed, reconnect and let the screen reconcile rather than repeating the request. If the Server confirmed deletion but local cleanup failed, choose Finish removal — that only clears the phone, it never sends a second deletion request.

Start a request without the app

For a Server you can't reach from the app, contact its operator directly and ask for the account to be deleted — they control retention and any ownership transfer needed for shared work. Never include a password, recovery code, or session token in that request.

What may remain

The Server operator can explain what it must keep for security, legal, or abuse-prevention reasons even after deletion. Connected identity or service providers may have their own separate retention rules.
